Hi, my name is Tristan! Potential is something that everyone possesses but some of us need a little help in getting there. I came into the shelter a shy and scared kitty, one that would hide behind his litter box. I didn't act out in anyway, I just wanted to hide. Everyday people would come in, talk to me and pet me gently. They'd give me some canned food and walk away so I could eat in peace. Little by little I am coming around. I no longer hide behind the litter box. I can be picked up and held gently. And I purr like crazy and rub my head against the hand of the girl that gives me the canned food. One minor set back is that I am FIV positive. This is my no means a death sentence and research has shown that FIV is not nearly the big deal that was originally thought. I can live with other cats, even if they are not positive. As long as we like each other, no worries! My potential is that I'm going to be a lover. When the right family comes for me, I am going to worship them as much as any cat can. I may always be a little timid but I am going to be a wonderful part of the family. UPDATE: I have been living in Kitty City for the past few months and am doing very well! I love the other cats and have many friends. I come out for people to pet me and while I don't like to be carried, I'll hang around and be your friend. I'm curious and always want to know what is going on. I've turned out to be an amazing boy! UPDATE: I have made the big move into Kitty City! And boy do I love it in here! There are so many places to climb on and in. I'm all over the room and quickly made friends with the other cats. While I'm not at the point where I'll run right up to you, I am around and very curious. Approach me slowly, let me sniff your hand and you can then pet me all that you'd like. I also love, love, love to be brushed. Sounds crazy but I'll flop from side to side and even act like I want you to brush my belly. In reality, I can't say that I like having my belly brushed but I do like to stretch out on my back. I have a really load motor and a good brushing brings that out. I've come so far in a short amount of time. In a calm home, I'm going to be an awesome cat! My adoption fee is $0.00 as I am part of the Shelters Free Pet Promotion! Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All cats and kittens have been vaccinated for Distemper, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will also be vaccinated for Rabies, blood tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated for Feline Leukemia and spayed/neutered. If a kitten is too young, the adoptive person is responsible for the cost of spaying/neutering by the date designated in our adoption contract. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society.
