Hi, my name is Jonah! And I am...interesting. When I came to the shelter in early January, I was quite the wild child. I didn't want anything to do with anybody. The plan was to release me to a cat friendly barn or shed, where food, water and shelter would be provided for me. But, I wouldn't have to worry about socializing with people. Because of the bitterly cold winter, I was not able to be released, as planned. I have been in the office now for the last month, not really happy, but all of a sudden, not as crabby either. The verdict is no longer so clear. I may be able to adjust as a house kitty, given time and patience. What has brought me around is canned food - I love it! And also, other cats. I am so curious when they are out and about. I sit by my cage door and talk to them. They make the world seem a lot friendlier! If you would like to take the time to show me that people can be as good as other cats, then apply for me today! 3/23/xxxx - UPDATE!!!! Well, if I didn't just shock the heck out of everybody! I am now officially in Kitty City and doing so well! I love the other cats and even the people. Yep! I'm definitely not a feral kitty any more. It may have taken over 3 months, but it was worth the wait. I love to have the base of my tail scratched and will all but spin in circles while you do it. I can't get enough and when you leave the room, I want to go with you. I've found out that the people here can be trusted and now I love them all. I would still prefer a calm household as I may need a little adjustment time with the change. In the end though, you are getting a guy that is a friendly as he is handsome. Stop in and meet me and see for yourself! My adoption fee is $0.00 as I am part of the Shelters Free Pet Promotion! Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All cats and kittens have been vaccinated for Distemper, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will also be vaccinated for Rabies, blood tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated for Feline Leukemia and spayed/neutered. If a kitten is too young, the adoptive person is responsible for the cost of spaying/neutering by the date designated in our adoption contract. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society.
